CP Radhakrishnan Becomes India’s 15th Vice President

  • The Vice Presidential position had been lying vacant since July 21, 2025, after Jagdeep Dhankhar stepped down citing health issues.
  • The decision to conduct the election early ensured constitutional balance and highlighted the NDA’s focus on maintaining stability in key parliamentary roles.

India’s Literacy Rate Reaches 80.9% in 2023–24

  • Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on International Literacy Day 2025 that India’s literacy rate has improved from 74% in 2011 to 80.9% in 2023–24.

Andhra Pradesh to Develop Space City and Defence Hubs

  • A Space City with an outlay of ₹400 crore will be set up in Tirupati, in collaboration with Skyroot Aerospace, focusing on private satellite launches and affordable small launch vehicles.
  • The location benefits from its closeness to ISRO’s Propulsion Complex.
  • Two Defence Manufacturing Hubs will be created in Madakasira, with ₹3,000 crore investment to produce aerospace parts, defence electronics, and weapon systems.

Anutin Charnvirakul Appointed as Thailand’s New Prime Minister
