TCS Launches Chiplet-Based System Engineering Services

  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has introduced new Chiplet-based System Engineering Services to enhance the pace of next-generation semiconductor design.
  • The chiplet approach relies on smaller integrated circuits functioning as modules to create larger, more complex chips, easing the challenges faced by traditional transistor scaling.
  • The Indian semiconductor market is currently estimated at $45–50 billion for 2024–25, with projections suggesting it will grow to $100–110 billion by 2030.
  • This growth is being supported by the ₹76,000 crore India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), which seeks to boost domestic chip manufacturing and innovation.

India’s First Indigenous Multi-Stage Malaria Vaccine Approved

  • The Union Government has authorized five Indian companies to produce and market AdFalciVax, India’s first indigenous multi-stage malaria vaccine.
  • Developed by ICMR, AdFalciVax is a recombinant chimeric vaccine designed to stop infection and transmission of Plasmodium falciparum, the deadliest malaria parasite.
  • The licensed manufacturers include:

India and Norway Conduct First Maritime Security Dialogue

  • India and Norway held their inaugural Maritime Security, Disarmament, and Non-Proliferation Dialogue in Oslo.

PhonePe Partners with SIDBI for Digital Udyam Assist

  • Fintech leader PhonePe signed an MoU with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to provide an integrated digital solution via the Udyam Assist Platform (UAP).
  • The collaboration focuses on formalizing Informal Micro Enterprises (IMEs) by enabling simple digital-first Udyam Assist registration.
  • Through this initiative, IMEs will gain easier access to government welfare schemes, credit opportunities, and digital payment systems.
  • The MoU signing was witnessed by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

India’s WPI Inflation Rises to 0.52% in August 2025

  • Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation increased to 52% in August 2025, compared to -0.58% during the same month last year.
  • The rise is attributed to higher costs of food products, basic manufactured metals, and mineral oils.
  • Although fuel and power prices declined, the overall trend reflects a move away from a prolonged low-inflation phase.
  • Retail inflation also showed an upward movement, touching 07%, as per Commerce Ministry data.

Delivery of ASW Shallow Water Craft ‘Androth’

  • The Indian Navy received ‘Androth’, its second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), on 13 September 2025.
  • Constructed by GRSE, Kolkata, the 77-meter vessel is equipped for submarine hunting, mine-laying, and coastal surveillance.
  • With over 80% indigenous components, it represents progress towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defense manufacturing.

India to Host 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in 2027

  • India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in Chennai, 2027, coinciding with the Golden Jubilee of the ICG.

Launch of Diving Support Craft DSC A22

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off Samudra Pradakshina, the world’s first all-women tri-service circumnavigation sailing expedition.
  • The expedition began from the Gateway of India, Mumbai, featuring 10 women officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
  • They will sail aboard IASV Triveni for nine months, covering 26,000 nautical miles, crossing the Equator twice and passing three major Capes — Leeuwin, Horn, and Good Hope.
  • The expedition highlights women empowerment, joint armed forces cooperation, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and will conclude in May 2026 in Mumbai.

1st Green Hydrogen R&D Conference and Start-Up Fund

  • Union Minister Pralhad Joshi inaugurated the first Annual Green Hydrogen R&D Conference in New Delhi.
