PayPal Partners with OpenAI – ChatGPT’s First Integrated Digital Payments Wallet

  • PayPal and OpenAI have officially partnered to bring digital wallet functionality directly to ChatGPT, allowing users to buy goods and services without leaving the chatbot interface.
  • Through this initiative, PayPal becomes the first-ever digital wallet integrated into ChatGPT.
  • The integration will use OpenAI’s Instant Checkout system, allowing seamless in-chat transactions using PayPal wallets under the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP).
  • The ChatGPT payment system will also include PayPal’s buyer and seller protection, order tracking features, dispute management, and a dedicated merchant analytics suite for catalog control and sales insights.
  • PayPal’s digital wallet and Venmo will be embedded within ChatGPT for effortless in-conversation payments.
  • Users will also have an option labeled “Pay Another Way”, enabling payments via debit/credit cards or linked bank accounts.
  • PayPal has announced a 2026 expansion feature called “Agent Ready,” which will allow AI-driven purchases through PayPal merchants across other AI platforms such as Google and Perplexity.

National Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) Conclave 2025 Inaugurated in New Delhi

  • The National FPO Conclave 2025 was inaugurated in New Delhi by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development.
  • The event saw participation from over 500 progressive farmers, FPOs, Implementing Agencies (IAs), and Cluster-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs) representing 24 states and 140 districts.
  • In his address, the Minister urged farmers to evolve from being producers to becoming entrepreneurs and traders, ensuring they gain the full benefits of agricultural value chains.
  • He revealed that a new Seed Act would soon be introduced to guarantee high-quality seeds for farmers. Strict measures would be taken against fake seeds and pesticides, supported by new legislation for farmer protection.
  • The conclave, held at NCDC and NCUI premises in Hauz Khas, Delhi, included a felicitation ceremony recognizing exceptional FPOs, CBBOs, and IAs for innovation, digital excellence, and organizational strength.
  • A grand agricultural exhibition at NCDC featured 267 FPO stalls, displaying cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, organic, and processed goods. The Minister visited 57 stalls, interacted with innovators, and encouraged the integration of technology and modern marketing in agriculture.

India and Nepal Strengthen Energy Ties Through Power Transmission Agreements

  • India and Nepal signed two major power transmission agreements between POWERGRID Corporation of India and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
  • The collaboration aims to construct two 400 kV cross-border power lines and establish joint ventures (JVs) in both nations for project execution.
  • The agreement was formalized in New Delhi, witnessed by India’s Power Minister Manohar Lal and Nepal’s Energy Minister Kulman Ghising.
  • The new transmission lines will connect Inaruwa (Nepal) – New Purnea (India) and Lamki/Dododhara (Nepal) – Bareilly (India).
  • Both nations will set up separate JV entities, ensuring balanced ownership and equal bilateral participation.

United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime Signed in Hanoi, Vietnam

  • The United Nations Convention against Cybercrime opened for signatures in Hanoi, Vietnam in October 2025, marking a key milestone in developing the first-ever global legal framework to combat cybercrime.
  • The signing ceremony was hosted jointly by Vietnam and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
  • The Convention was open for signatures from 25–26 October 2025 in Hanoi and will remain open at the UN Headquarters, New York, until 31 December 2026.
  • Over 60 nations have already signed, reflecting strong international collaboration.
  • The treaty was originally adopted by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on 24 December 2024 under Resolution A/RES/79/243 after five years of negotiations.
  • Its goal is to establish a universal framework for investigating and prosecuting online crimes
