The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) signed an MoU with CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) and the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, to reduce dust pollution through scientific urban road redevelopment.
The initiative focuses on paving, greening of footpaths, proper drainage, and standardised road design. A Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) will be set up at CAQM to oversee phased implementation across NCR states.
Bengaluru-based insurtech startup Covrzy partnered with Namma Yatri to provide affordable health insurance to auto and cab drivers.
The insurance products will be embedded directly into the Namma Yatri driver app, allowing digital policy purchase, claim filing, and hospital access. The initiative will begin with 3,000 drivers in Bengaluru and expand to 50,000+ drivers nationwide.
The Andhra Pradesh government announced the disbursal of ₹8,745 crore under the Talliki Vandanam scheme.
Under the scheme, ₹15,000 per year will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of mothers of school-going children from Class 1 to Intermediate, benefiting around 67 lakh students.
The programme forms a key part of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “Super Six” welfare agenda.

India’s first underwater museum and artificial coral reef will be developed around the decommissioned warship INS Guldar near Nivati Rocks, Sindhudurg district (Maharashtra).
The project, approved with funding of ₹46.91 crore, aims to promote marine conservation, scuba diving tourism, and reef regeneration. INS Guldar was decommissioned in January 2024.
This will be India’s first underwater museum, combining marine heritage preservation with eco-tourism development.

The collaboration integrates Razorpay’s PCI DSS Level-1 compliant payment gateway with RateGain’s booking engine to support India’s rapidly growing online hospitality market.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the discontinuation of daily Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auctions from 11 June 2025, citing a liquidity surplus of nearly ₹3 lakh crore in the banking system.
However, 14-day VRR auctions will continue to manage short-term liquidity. The decision follows a 100 basis point CRR cut to 3%, injecting ₹5 lakh crore into the system.
The CRR was reduced by 100 bps to 3%, releasing ₹5 lakh crore liquidity into the banking system.

Sumit Madan was appointed Managing Director & CEO of Axis Max Life Insurance, effective 1 October 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
He will succeed Prashant Tripathy and brings over 25 years of BFSI experience.
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommended R Doraiswamy as the next MD & CEO of LIC.
He is expected to succeed Sat Pal Bhanoo, the interim chief, and has over three decades of experience across insurance operations, marketing, and technology.
Mohd. Arif Khan was appointed Deputy CEO of SBI General Insurance.
A career banker with over 20 years at SBI, he previously served as General Manager (Network-I) in Thiruvananthapuram.

A 40-member Indian Army contingent, including women soldiers, joined the 22nd edition of Exercise Khaan Quest in Mongolia.
The multinational exercise focuses on UN peacekeeping operations, counter-IED drills, evacuation techniques, and joint tactical training.
Khaan Quest is a multinational peacekeeping exercise hosted annually by Mongolia with participation from multiple countries.
