India and Canada signed the Terms of Reference for a CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement), targeting bilateral trade of CAD 70 billion by 2030. Formal negotiations are to be concluded by end-2026.

Cameco Uranium Deal with India
Cameco Corporation (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) signed a USD 2.6 billion uranium supply deal with India’s Department of Atomic Energy, covering ~22 million pounds of uranium from 2027 to 2035. This is a key component of the India-Canada Strategic Energy Partnership.

Launched by President Droupadi Murmu, the Saheli Pink Smart Card under the NCMC framework provides free DTC bus travel to eligible women and transgender residents of Delhi. The card also enables paid travel on Metro and RRTS.

RBI Penalty on MMFSL
The RBI imposed Rs 11.50 lakh on Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (MMFSL) for: (1) charging revised foreclosure fees without updating loan agreements (breach of Fair Practices Code), and (2) failing to escalate complaints to the Internal Ombudsman within mandated timelines.

Meningococcal Disease β Neisseria meningitidis
Meningococcal disease is caused by Neisseria meningitidis, leading to meningitis and septicaemia. It spreads via respiratory droplets, making crowded settings like military training camps high-risk. Two Agniveer trainees at the Assam Regimental Centre died in early March 2026.

Ranji Trophy 2025-26 β J&K’s Historic Win
Jammu & Kashmir won the 91st Ranji Trophy (2025-26), becoming the 20th team to win the title, defeating 8-time champions Karnataka in the final. Prize money: Rs 5 crore. Mumbai remains the most successful team with 42 titles.
