MoCAF&PD sanctioned an additional 2.8 million tonnes (MT) of FCI rice for ethanol production under the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme. Total allocation for ESY 2024-25 (December 2024 to October 2025): raised from 2.4 MT to 5.2 MT. Reserve price cut: ₹2,800/quintal → ₹2,250/quintal (−₹550).
- At 470 litres/tonne conversion rate, total allocation could yield ~2.45 billion litres of ethanol
