Igla-S shoulder-fired air defence missiles assembled in India by Adani Defence Systems and Technologies Limited (ADSTL), Ahmedabad under a βΉ260 crore emergency procurement contract. Igla-S is an upgraded version of the Igla (in Indian service since the 1990s): range 6 km, altitude 3.5 km. Designed to neutralise helicopters, UAVs, and low-speed aircraft.

MAHASAGAR Vision β India-Maldives HADR Exercise
INS Sharda participated in India’s inaugural HADR exercise with the Maldives (May 4β10) under PM Modi’s MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) vision β unveiled in March 2025 during his Mauritius visit. Builds on the 2015 SAGAR doctrine. India has trained 1,500+ MNDF personnel and conducted 630+ MEDEVACs and SAR missions since 2019.

K.V. Rabiya β Kerala’s ‘Aksharaputri’, Padma Shri 2022
K.V. Rabiya (Kariveppil Rabiya, b. 25 Feb 1966, Malappuram; d. May 2025) β celebrated as Kerala’s Aksharaputri (daughter of letters).
