IndiaβWHO MoU: Traditional Medicine Module under ICHI
Ministry of Ayush signed an MoU with WHO (May 24, 2025) to develop a Traditional Medicine Module under ICHI (International Classification of Health Interventions), which complements ICD-11. India contributed USD 3 million. This enables global codification and recognition of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy practices.

Konkan Railway Merger β Maharashtra’s Two Conditions
Maharashtra’s GOM approved the Konkan RailwayβIndian Railways merger on two conditions: (1) GoI reimburses Maharashtra’s equity of βΉ396.54 crore in KRCL, and (2) the name ‘Konkan Railway’ is retained. KRCL operates the ~741 km Konkan Railway line along India’s west coast, connecting Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.

RBI Record Surplus Transfer β βΉ2.69 Trillion to GoI (FY25)
RBI’s 615th Central Board (chaired by Governor Sanjay Malhotra) approved a record surplus transfer of βΉ2,68,590.07 crore (βΉ2.69 trillion) for FY25 β 27% higher than FY24’s βΉ2.11 trillion. This is the highest-ever RBI dividend to the government, supporting fiscal consolidation and public expenditure capacity.

LIMA 2025 (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition) saw Malaysia secure MoUs worth 11 billion Malaysian Ringgit (~USD 2.34 billion), covering defence satellites and AI in aviation. LIMA is Southeast Asia’s premier aerospace and defence trade show, held biennially in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Jarosite in Gujarat β Mars Mineral Analogue
Jarosite (KFeβ(SOβ)β(OH)β β hydrous iron-potassium sulfate) found in Kachchh, Gujarat was previously identified on Mars by NASA rovers Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity. Its presence indicates past acidic, oxidising conditions on Mars. Gujarat’s occurrence serves as a terrestrial analogue for Martian mineralogy studies.
