World Theatre Day (WTD) is an international observance celebrated annually on 27 March by International Theatre Institute (ITI) Centres and the global theatre community.

Union Minister Vaishnaw Launches 5 New Reforms Under ‘Reform Express’ for Indian Railways

Gujarat Becomes 2nd State to Pass Uniform Civil Code Bill — ‘Gujarat Uniform Civil Code, 2026’

The Gujarat Legislative Assembly passed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill titled ‘Gujarat Uniform Civil Code, 2026’ by a majority voice vote on 24 March 2026, after a debate of over seven hours. Gujarat became the second state in India after Uttarakhand to pass the UCC Bill.

  • Introduced by: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, after a state-appointed expert committee chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai submitted its final report.
  • Scope: Common legal framework for marriage, divorce, succession, and live-in relationships for all residents irrespective of religion; applies to Gujarat residents including those living outside the state.

Chennai-based private space startup Agnikul Cosmos Private Limited successfully test-fired ‘Agnite’, its booster rocket engine, at its in-house facility (Agnikul Launchpad, ALP-01, IIT Madras Research Park) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on 25 March 2026. Agnite is confirmed as the world’s largest single-piece 3D-printed rocket engine.

  • Engine Specs: 1 metre long; made entirely of Inconel (high-performance nickel-based superalloy used in extreme-temperature aerospace applications); fully 3D-printed as a single piece — no welds, joints, or fasteners.
  • Manufacturing Advantage: Can be 3D-printed in just 7 days, vs. 6–7 months for traditional engines — a 90–97% reduction in turnaround time; costs one-tenth of traditional engine manufacturing.
  • First of Its Kind: First engine of its scale tested with electric motor-driven pumps (instead of conventional turbomachinery).
