India’s Digital Leap: Can EdTech Infrastructure and Cybercrime Governance Keep Pace With Each Other?
Context from today’s quiz: In June 2026, India simultaneously expanded digital access through ADB’s USD 10 million Schoolnet deal targeting 30,000 government schools and 45 million students — and launched two new MHA cybercrime portals (GRM and MRM) to address the surge in cyber financial fraud. Together, these developments highlight a central tension in India’s digital ambitions: as digital infrastructure expands rapidly to rural government schools, the cybercrime ecosystem is expanding just as fast, targeting precisely those newly connected, digitally inexperienced citizens.
🤔 Your Perspective Matters
India’s digital inclusion drive brings transformative opportunity — but also unprecedented vulnerability. Millions of students, educators, and rural citizens coming online for the first time will be exposed to cyber threats without adequate digital literacy or legal recourse mechanisms.

Should India’s digital education push (school connectivity, digital classrooms) mandatorily include cyber safety literacy as a core curriculum component — and is the reactive GRM/MRM portal approach sufficient, or does India need a proactive national digital safety architecture?
  • The WEF ETI 2026 noted that global energy transition readiness declined for the first time in a decade — even as clean energy investment hit USD 2.3 trillion. India improved 2 places to 70th. Does this suggest that investment alone cannot drive transition, and what policy frameworks (carbon pricing, green procurement, technology transfer) would actually accelerate India’s ETI ranking?
  • India inducted its first indigenous ACV under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, while simultaneously signing an ADB digital education deal with foreign capital (JICA-backed LEAP 2). Is there a contradiction in India’s self-reliance philosophy when it comes to digital education infrastructure — or are these complementary strategies?
  • The BRICS Agriculture Ministers adopted the Indore Declaration with four new cooperation platforms including Digital Agriculture and Agroecology. Given that India also discovered a new spider species in Meghalaya with pest-control properties, how should India’s BRICS agricultural cooperation agenda integrate biodiversity-led pest management with digital precision agriculture?
