BARC & TRP Suspension for News Channels
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) directed BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) to suspend TRP publication for TV news channels for four weeks. BARC uses BAR-O-meters with audio watermarking technology to measure viewership and is the only authorised TRP rating agency in India.

CSE’s State of India’s Environment (SOE) 2026 report reveals 7 of 9 planetary boundaries have been breached. Ocean acidification is the newest (7th) breached boundary, with acidity rising 30β40% since the industrial era. The world is also nearing the 1.5Β°C global warming threshold.

Air Quality Monitoring Gap in India
Only ~15% of India’s population (~200 million people) live within 10 km of a continuous air quality monitoring station. This leaves over 1.2 billion people (85%) without real-time air quality data, exposing a massive gap in India’s environmental health infrastructure.

The All England Open Badminton Championships 2026 (BWF Super 1000) was held at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, from 3β8 March 2026. Lin Chun-Yi of Chinese Taipei defeated India’s Lakshya Sen (21-15, 22-20) to become the first Chinese Taipei man to win this title. Lakshya was runner-up for the second time.

ASMITA stands for Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action. Launched in 2021 by PM Modi under the Khelo India programme, it is managed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Its special IWD 2026 edition was inaugurated by MoS Raksha Nikhil Khadse at 250 locations.

CISF Raising Day β 10 March
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was raised on 10 March 1969 under the CISF Act. It operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is responsible for security at airports, nuclear plants, metro systems, PSUs, and heritage monuments across India.
