PLI Scheme for Textiles — 96 Companies Approved
In June 2026, Ministry of Textiles approved 22 new applicants under Round-3 of the PLI Scheme for Textiles. Total: 96 companies selected with committed investment of Rs 12,822.67 crore and projected turnover of Rs 58,294.18 crore. Expected employment: 36,217 jobs. Focus areas: MMF apparel, MMF fabrics, and technical textiles. Aligned with Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Amaravati Office Complexes — CCEA Approval
On 10 June 2026, CCEA (chaired by PM Modi) approved CGGPOA at Rs 1,299 crore and GPRA at Rs 1,235 crore in Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. Combined cost: Rs 2,533 crore. Implementation: MoHUA through CPWD. Capacity: ~8,000 central government officials and staff.

ECGNSS Jammers — Indian Navy & IDDM Category
MoD signed a Rs 449 crore deal with ASSPL (Accord Software and Systems Pvt Ltd) for 20 ECGNSS Jammers for the Indian Navy. Contract category: Buy Indian – IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) with 75% indigenous content. CGSMFI-2.0 — Extended Validity & Enhanced Limits
CGSMFI-2.0 validity extended to 31 August 2026 or until Rs 20,000 crore in guarantees are issued. Maximum loan limit for Large-Sized NBFC-MFIs raised from Rs 300 crore to Rs 1,000 crore (subject to 20% of AUM). Guarantee coverage: 80% (small), 75% (medium), 70% (large). Guarantee fee: 0.50% p.a. on sanctioned amount. Implemented by Ministry of Finance.

RBI Third Amendment Directions 2026 — REITs & InvITs
RBI issued Third Amendment Directions, 2026 for bank lending to REITs and InvITs. Banks can lend only to SEBI-registered, exchange-listed REITs/InvITs. REITs: minimum 80% of assets must be cash-generating properties operational for 1+ year. InvITs: minimum 80% in completed revenue-generating infrastructure projects with positive cash flows. Sangeet Natak Akademi — Akademi Ratna Sadasyata
On 10 June 2026, General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi elected 7 eminent artists as Fellows — the Akademi Ratna Sadasyata (highest Akademi honour). Also announced: 108 artists for Akademi Puraskar (2024 & 2025) and 106 young artists (under 40) for Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. Akademi is the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama under Ministry of Culture, est. 1952.

EMBO Gold Medal 2026 — Gautam Dey
Indian-origin scientist Gautam Dey (EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany) awarded EMBO Gold Medal 2026 for research on evolutionary origins of nuclear organisation and cell division. Co-awardee: Omaya Dudin (University of Geneva). EMBO Gold Medal: Europe’s top life sciences honour for early-career researchers; awarded by European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC) — 32 member states. Prize: medal + EUR 10,000.

Artemis III crew: Randy Bresnik (CDR, USA), Andre Douglas (USA), Frank Rubio (USA; ISS record: 371-day stay), Luca Parmitano (ESA/Italy; first ESA astronaut in Artemis). Mission: late-2027 LEO — tests docking between SpaceX Starship, Blue Origin Blue Moon lander, and NASA Orion (SLS). Does not approach the Moon; sets up future crewed lunar landings.
