PM Modi’s Slovakia Visit — First-Ever by an Indian PM
PM Modi’s visit to Bratislava (14–16 June 2026) is the first-ever visit by an Indian PM to Slovakia since its independence in 1993. Second leg of a 6-day tour: Nice (France) → Bratislava → G7 Evian → VivaTech Paris. Met PM Robert Fico and President Peter Pellegrini. Focus areas: trade, automobile & railway manufacturing, AI, quantum technologies, medical research. Slovakia: landlocked, Central Europe; capital: Bratislava.

Unveiled 15 June 2026 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar by CM Bhupendra Patel and Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi. Thrust sectors expanded from 9 to 16 — new additions: semiconductor supply chains, nuclear power equipment, drones & robotics, recycling, heavy equipment manufacturing. New ‘Ultra Mega’ project category introduced. Key pillars: Ease of Doing Business, advanced manufacturing, MSME support, technology adoption, and innovation. Gujarat is India’s leading industrial and investment state.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth — 31st Chief of Army Staff
Appointed 31st CoAS, effective 30 June 2026. Belongs to the Armoured Corps — commissioned into 2nd Lancers (Gardner’s Horse) on 20 December 1986 from IMA Dehradun. First Armoured Corps officer as CoAS in ~30 years — last was Gen Shankar Roychowdhury (retired September 1997). Currently 49th VCAS (since 1 April 2026). Commands held: 1st Horse (Skinner’s Horse), XXI Corps, Delhi Area, South Western Command, Southern Command. Awards: PVSM, UYSM, AVSM.

IBC at 10 Years — Key Milestones (as of March 2026)
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) enacted in 2016; completed 10 years of operation. Creditors realised over Rs 4 lakh crore from 1,419 resolution plans — ~95% of fair value and 167% of liquidation value. Of 7,102 closed cases, 58% (4,099 companies) successfully rescued. Jaspal Rana — Tribute to a Shooting Legend
Padma Shri Jaspal Rana (born 1976, Uttarakhand) — legendary Indian pistol shooter and coach — passed away in June 2026 at age 49. Received the Arjuna Award (1994), Padma Shri (2002), and Dronacharya Award (2020). Junior national shooting coach since 2012; mentored Manu Bhaker (two bronze medals, Paris 2024 Olympics). Dominated international pistol shooting in the 1990s–2000s. Passed away in New Delhi.
