Observed 17 April every year — marks birthday of Frank Schnabel, founder of WFH (World Federation of Haemophilia). 2026 theme: “Diagnosis: First Step to Care”. Over 75% of people with inherited bleeding disorders remain undiagnosed globally. WFH founded 1963, HQ: Montreal, Canada. Haemophilia Type A: Factor VIII deficiency; Type B: Factor IX deficiency. Samrat Choudhary sworn in as 24th CM of Bihar on 15 April 2026 — first BJP leader to hold the post. Oath administered by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at Raj Bhavan, Patna. Flagged off 13 April 2026 from Marve, Mumbai by 1st Regiment of Artillery. Distance: 520 nautical miles along Konkan Coast (4 legs: Mumbai–Vijaydurg–Goa–Vijaydurg–Mumbai) using 21-foot Seabird class boats. Led by Ksitij Nair and Prakash Funde; supported by Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. Marks bicentenary (200 years) of 1st Regiment of Artillery; pays tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Signed 15 April 2026 between DoT (Sanjeev Kumar Sharma) and SEBI (Sandip Pradhan). Purpose: integrate telecom intelligence with financial surveillance to prevent financial crimes. DoT to share Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) and Mobile Number Revocation List (MNRL) with SEBI. Facilitated via Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) — connects 1,400+ stakeholders. Observed annually on 13 April. Commemorates Operation Meghdoot launched 13 April 1984 — securing Bilafond La Pass on the Siachen Glacier. 13 April 2026 = 42nd year of India’s continuous presence. World’s longest ongoing military operation. Siachen Glacier: Eastern Karakoram range, Ladakh, at ~5,400 metres altitude — world’s highest battlefield. Operation Vijay (1999) relates to Kargil, not Siachen.
