India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) spans 82 km between Delhi and Meerut. It is the first corridor where RRTS and Metro share the same station and track. Designed speed: 180 kmph; operational speed: 160 kmph.

The Most Favoured Nation (MFN) clause was removed from the India-France DTAC to resolve past disputes. Capital gains are now taxed in the company’s resident country. Dividends taxed at 5% (10%+ shareholding) or 15% (others). Original DTAC signed 29 Sep 1992.

Jute MSP for 2026β27
CCEA set raw jute (TD-3 grade) MSP at Rs 5,925/quintal, up Rs 275 from the previous year. This ensures a 61.8% return over production cost. Jute MSP has risen 2.5 times since 2014β15 (from Rs 2,400). Rs 1,342 crore disbursed to farmers.

PRAHAR is India’s first national counter-terrorism strategy, launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its pillars are prevention, response, and capacity aggregation. It criminalises terrorist acts, denies funds and safe havens, and follows a human rights-based approach.

Kerala Renamed to Keralam β Article 3
The Union Cabinet approved renaming Kerala to Keralam under Article 3 of the Constitution, which governs state name changes. The bill is referred to the State Legislature and passed by simple majority in both Houses. It requires amending the First Schedule and Fourth Schedule.
