The Government of India has added nine new commodities to the e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) platform, bringing the total to 247 tradable commodities.

Newly Added Commodities: Green Tea, Mustard Oil, Lavender Oil, Virgin Olive Oil, Broken Rice, among others.

The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI) has formulated tradable parameters to ensure prices reflect quality, boosting farmers’ bargaining strength and reducing dependency on intermediaries.

Odisha to Set Up “Gyana Yagnya Mandap” Digital Library in Puri

The Odisha government plans to establish a digital library, named Gyana Yagnya Mandap, at the site of the former Raghunandan Library in Puri.

Purpose: Preserve ancient records of the Jagannath Temple, including:

  • Madala Panji (temple chronicle)
  • Ritual documentation
  • Palm-leaf manuscripts

Announced by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and supported by SJTA chief Arabinda Padhee. Will also feature a research centre.
