- The concept of usability dates back to ancient Greece, where ergonomic principles were used in designing tools and workplaces as early as the 5th century BC.
- The observance was established in November 2005 by the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA), founded in 1991.
- Today, UXPA is a global community of over 2,400 professionals, promoting usability through international conferences, the Journal of Usability Studies (JUS), User Experience Magazine, and 59 local chapters across 30 countries.
World Kindness Day 2025 was celebrated on 13 November, emphasizing compassion, empathy, and acts of goodwill.
- The day gained greater resonance after the COVID-19 pandemic, which revealed the profound impact of kindness shown by healthcare workers beyond clinical treatment.
- Around 27 countries, including India, Japan, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Italy, observe this day, though it is not officially recognized by the United Nations.
The first observance took place in 1998 during the Tokyo Conference, leading to the formation of the World Kindness Movement, which aims to promote kindness as a means of reducing conflict and fostering global harmony.
