Puri and Sunapur beaches in Odisha have once again secured the Blue Flag certification for 2025–26, reinforcing their reputation as globally recognized eco-friendly coastal destinations.
- Sunapur Beach has bagged the Blue Flag tag for the third year in a row.
- Puri Beach has achieved this distinction for the seventh time.
- Awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
- Assesses beaches on 33 rigorous parameters that include water purity, safety systems, environmental management, and initiatives promoting ecological awareness.
- This achievement highlights India’s focus on promoting sustainable tourism, with 13 beaches across the country earning recognition this year.
The Indian government has approved Geographical Indication (GI) tags for two traditional Lepcha musical instruments.
- Tungbuk — a culturally significant string instrument
- Pumtong Pulit — a traditional bamboo flute
- This recognition strengthens both the heritage value and economic opportunities for the Lepcha community of Sikkim.
- The GI tags were formally awarded on 5 November 2025 at the 1st Tribal Business Conclave.

A contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has reached the Mont-de-Marsan Air Base in France to participate in Garuda-2025, a bilateral air exercise with the French Air and Space Force.

Veteran Hindi film actress Kamini Kaushal, a pioneering figure in Indian cinema, has died at the age of 98.
