National Nutrition Week is observed annually from September 1 to 7.
“Eat Right for a Better Life”
The awareness drive is vital as a significant share of India’s population—especially children and women—faces inadequate food access due to poverty, illiteracy, and limited awareness.
Objective: To intensify public awareness on the role of nutrition in health, with downstream impacts on human development, productivity, economic growth, and national progress.
Established in 1975 by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), now the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The week underscores the importance of balanced nutrition alongside an active lifestyle.
