Haryana and Rajasthan have signed an MoU to jointly prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Yamuna Water Pipeline Project.

A Joint Task Force has been formed, while Rajasthan has engaged a consultant for preparing the DPR.

As per the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), India generated 1,08,494 GWh of solar energy in 2025, surpassing Japan’s 96,459 GWh output.

The Government of India has raised ₹1.42 lakh crore through asset monetisation up to FY25.

Key monetisation models used:

• Toll-Operate-Transfer (ToT)
• Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvIT)
• Securitisation

This approach provides long-term private investment in public assets, reduces pressure of public debt, and facilitates expansion of highways and infrastructure.

The target for FY25 is ₹30,000 crore, aligned with the broader goal of efficient capital recycling.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined Rapido, operated by Roppen Transportation Services Pvt. Ltd., ₹10 lakh for misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices.

The violation was linked to the “AUTO IN 5 MIN OR GET ₹50” promotional offer.

Actions taken: Misleading advertisements banned; Rapido must reimburse all affected consumers.

India and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) — which includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Russia — signed the Terms of Reference (ToR) in Moscow to initiate negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

In 2024, India-EAEU trade touched $69 billion, recording a 7% rise over 2023.

The proposed FTA is expected to tap into unexplored trade potential and encourage investment inflows.

Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will be on an official visit to India from August 24–26, 2025.

He will be accompanied by his wife and senior officials, including Fiji’s Health Minister Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu.
