Himachal Pradesh has launched the ‘Green to Gold’ initiative for industrial hemp cultivation. Under this programme, hemp cultivation is permitted only if the THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content remains below 0.3%.
The 0.3% THC limit ensures the hemp is non-intoxicating and suitable strictly for industrial-grade usage such as textiles, construction materials, and biofuels.
