NAKSHA Programme Modernises Urban Land Records

  • The NAKSHA Programme, launched under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), is designed to upgrade urban land management systems.
  • It leverages geospatial mapping, GNSS, and Web-GIS technologies to make land records transparent, precise, and easily accessible.
  • A National Training-cum-Workshop conducted by LBSNAA trained District Magistrates and Collectors for its nationwide implementation.
  • This initiative furthers the ‘One Nation, One Land Record’ vision by digitally mapping land parcels to clarify ownership details, helping in dispute resolution, urban planning, and property tax assessments.

e-NAM Expands to 247 Commodities

  • The Government of India has added nine new commodities to the e-NAM (National Agriculture Market) platform, bringing the total to 247 tradable commodities.
  • This expansion aims to give farmers and traders access to a transparent, competitive digital marketplace connecting markets across India.
  • Newly added commodities include Green Tea, Mustard Oil, Lavender Oil, Virgin Olive Oil, Broken Rice, among others.
  • The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI) has formulated tradable parameters for these items to ensure that prices accurately represent product quality, thereby boosting farmers’ bargaining strength and reducing dependency on intermediaries.

Odisha to Set Up “Gyana Yagnya Mandap” Digital Library in Puri

  • The Odisha government plans to establish a digital library, named Gyana Yagnya Mandap, at the site of the former Raghunandan Library in Puri.
  • This initiative seeks to preserve ancient records of the Jagannath Temple, including the Madala Panji, ritual documentation, and palm-leaf manuscripts.
  • Announced by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the project will also feature a research centre providing digital access to devotees and scholars.
  • Supported by SJTA chief Arabinda Padhee, the initiative aims to protect and digitize the temple’s cultural heritage.

PM Modi Inaugurates ₹19,650 Cr Navi Mumbai International Airport

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Navi Mumbai International Airport, developed at a cost of ₹19,650 crore, with commercial operations expected to start by December 2025.
  • Once operational, Mumbai will become one of the few global cities to host multiple international airports.
  • The lotus-shaped airport is intended to stimulate trade, tourism, exports, and benefit farmers and fishermen in the region.

Nitin Gadkari Opens India’s First Electric Truck Battery Swapping Station

  • Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated India’s first electric truck battery swapping and charging station in Sonipat, Haryana.
  • The facility represents a significant move toward eco-friendly and efficient logistics systems.
