  • International Value Summit 2025: Gadkari Outlines India’s Vision as Automobile & Green Mobility Hub
    • Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, presented a strategic roadmap in New Delhi to establish India as the global leader in automobile manufacturing, green mobility, and infrastructure innovation.
    • Key highlights:
      • India has overtaken Japan to become the world’s 3rd-largest automobile market and targets the 1 spot within five years.
      • The two-wheeler sector exports 50% of its output, strengthening India’s global market role.
    • Green mobility measures:
      • Strong initiatives in EVs, hydrogen fuel, and alternative fuels.
      • Launch of hydrogen-powered trucks on 10 pilot routes.
      • Government support with ₹600 crore in grants for hydrogen infrastructure; major players include Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Reliance, and Indian Oil.
      • Ongoing trials for isobutanol and bio-bitumen as eco-friendly alternatives.
    • Gadkari invited global partners for collaboration in areas like precast road construction, tunnel engineering, hydrogen transport, and circular economy solutions.

  • UCO Bank Gets Approval to Handle Trade for Nayara Energy
    • The government has authorized UCO Bank to manage Nayara Energy’s trade payments after the EU imposed sanctions on the company in July 2025.
    • Nayara, with 49% Russian ownership (Rosneft), had been struggling due to disrupted shipping and trade restrictions.
    • Unlike major banks like SBI, which stopped Nayara’s FX and trade deals due to sanction risks, UCO Bank—with its limited offshore exposure and prior role in Iran oil trade settlements—was assigned this responsibility.
    • Nayara’s significance: it handles 8% of India’s refining capacity and controls 7% of the country’s retail fuel network, making its operations strategically vital.

  • PM Modi Defines the “Neo-Middle Class” During GST Bachat Utsav
    • In his 21st September 2025 address, PM Modi unveiled Next-Gen GST reforms and introduced the concept of the Neo-Middle Class, consisting of 25 crore Indians who recently emerged from poverty.
    • This group represents aspirations for housing, education, healthcare, and local goods, driving India’s growth engine.

  • Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0 Launched by Piyush Goyal
    • Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal rolled out IPRS 3.0 in New Delhi.
    • Developed by DPIIT with ADB’s support, this version includes parameters like sustainability, green infra, digital adoption, and logistics efficiency.

  • LEADS 2025 Unveiled for Logistics Benchmarking
    • Minister Piyush Goyal also launched LEADS 2025 (Logistics Ease Across Different States).
    • Aimed at creating a cost-efficient, sustainable, and globally competitive logistics framework, it introduces:
      • Corridor performance evaluations.
      • API-enabled real-time speed tracking.
      • Support mechanisms to strengthen India’s exports and manufacturing base by 2047.
    • Logistics Data Bank (LDB) 2.0 Introduced to Boost Digital Trade
      • Another initiative by Piyush Goyal: LDB 2.0, developed by NLDSL.
