Kargil Vijay Diwas Padyatra 2025 Organised by MY Bharat to Honour 26th Anniversary of India’s Victory in Kargil War
- Mera Yuva Bharat(MY Bharat), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will organize the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas Padyatra’ on 26th July 2025 in Drass, Kargil to commemorate 26 years of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War.
- Led by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the padyatra will also include participation from the Union Minister of State for Defence, Shri Sanjay SetheShram Portal Evolved as One-Stop-Solution for Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Access
- The Ministry of Labour and Employmentlaunched the eShram portal (eshram.gov.in) on 26th August 2021 to create a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW) linked with Aadhaar.
- The initiative aims to provide unorganised workerswith a Universal Account Number (UAN) based on self-declaration, ensuring streamlined access to social security schemes.
- Registrations on the Rise:
As of 17th July 2025, over 30.94 crore unorganised workershave registered on the eShram portal, including 86 lakh workers from Andhra Pradesh. - eShram “One-Stop-Solution” Launched:
In line with the Budget 2024-25 vision, the eShram–“One-Stop-Solution”was launched on 21st October 2024 to integrate multiple social security and welfare schemes into a single platform.
This allows registered workers to access various benefits and track entitlements via eShram.

- The 9th Meeting of the Empowered Committee for Animal Health (ECAH)was held in New Delhi under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD).
- Chairperson: Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.
- Vice-Chairperson: Mrs. Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, DAHD.
- Participants included representatives from PSA’s office, ICMR, CDSCO, DBT, Ministry of Ayush, and other institutions.
India Resumes Tourist Visas for Chinese Citizens After Five Years
- India has resumedthe issuance of tourist visas to Chinese nationals, ending a five-year suspension.
- This move signals a positive recalibration in India-China diplomatic ties, focusing on soft power, tourism revival, and religious diplomacy.
- It also aligns with India’s broader efforts to boost international tourism post-COVID-19 and reopens avenues for people-to-people exchange.
- Tourist visas for Chinese citizens were suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemicand the Galwan Valley clash, straining bilateral relations. Prior to the suspension, travel included tourism, business, academic exchanges, and religious pilgrimages.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modihas become the second-longest-serving PM in Indian history, overtaking Indira Gandhi’s record of 4,077 consecutive days in office.
- He completed 4,078 continuous daysin office, achieving this feat over three consecutive terms.
- Record Surpassed:
Modi has surpassed Indira Gandhi’s uninterrupted tenurefrom January 24, 1966 to March 24, 1977 (4,077 days). - First Non-Congress PMto reach this milestone.
- First Indian PM born after Independence.

Government Launches Palna Scheme Under Mission Shakti to Provide Day-Care and Child Protection
- The Ministry of Women and Child Developmentrolled out the Palna Scheme on 1 April 2022 under the Samarthya vertical of Umbrella Mission Shakti, offering day-care crèche facilities and child protection services for children aged 6 months to 6 years across all States and UTs.
- Rationale for the Scheme:Rapid growth of women’s workforce participation, urbanisation, migration, and nuclear families has created a childcare gap, deterring many mothers from pursuing gainful employment.
