T.C.A. Kalyani Appointed as Controller General of Accounts (CGA)
- C.A. Kalyani, a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), has assumed charge as the 29th Controller General of Accounts in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
- She brings with her 34+ years of experience in areas such as public financial management, accounting, governance, and administration.
- Throughout her career, she has served in several ministries, including Defence, Telecom, Fertilizers, Finance, Social Justice & Empowerment, Information & Broadcasting, and Home Affairs.
- She played a pivotal role in implementing the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for farmers under the fertilizer subsidy program.
- At MTNL, she spearheaded the digital transformation drive, introducing facilities like online bill payments and payment kiosks.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Highlights ‘Garv Se Swadeshi’ at Sports Goods Conclave
- Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya chaired the first Sports Goods Manufacturing Conclave in New Delhi, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and NITI Aayog.
- For the first time, Sports Goods Manufacturing has been formally included in the Allocation of Business Rules, 1961 under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
- India’s sports goods industry is valued at USD 4.88 billion (₹42,877 crore) in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 6.6 billion (₹57,800 crore) by 2027 and ₹87,300 crore by 2034.
- The sector generates employment for over 5 lakh people, largely concentrated in MSME hubs like Meerut, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Delhi-NCR.
- India ranks as the 3rd largest sports goods producer in Asia and the 21st largest exporter globally, with exports worth USD 523 million (2023–24) to more than 90 nations.
- Top export destinations include the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, and France, while new markets are opening in South Africa, UAE, Canada, and Sweden.
Launch of Adi Vaani: AI Translator for Tribal Languages
- The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has unveiled the Beta version of “Adi Vaani”, India’s first AI-driven tribal language translator, designed to safeguard endangered tribal tongues and foster inclusive growth.
- Developed under the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh initiative, Adi Vaani offers real-time translations, language learning support, and digital preservation of tribal culture using models like NLLB and IndicTrans2.
- Created in partnership with IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, and Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs), the tool presently supports Santali, Bhili, Mundari, and Gondi, with more tribal languages in development.
NeGD Achieves 2,000 e-Gov Services Integration
- The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under MeitY has achieved a milestone by integrating nearly 2,000 e-government services across all 36 states and UTs onto platforms like DigiLocker and e-District.
- Citizens can now easily access services such as certificates, welfare schemes, and utility bill payments, ensuring greater convenience and transparency.
- Maharashtra leads the integration drive with 254 services, followed by Delhi, Karnataka, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh.
- NeGD also aims to expand further with the integration of AI-based technologies.
PM Modi’s Gifts to Japanese PM
- During his Japan visit, PM Narendra Modi gifted Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba a set of vintage moonstone ramen bowls with silver chopsticks, blending Indian artistry with Japanese tradition.
- The bowls are crafted from moonstone sourced from Andhra Pradesh, symbolizing love and protection, with bases made of Makrana marble adorned by Rajasthani parchinkari inlay work.

Odisha Emerges as a Leader in E-Bus Adoption
- Odisha now ranks 5th nationally in electric bus adoption, deploying 450 e-buses, surpassing several neighboring states.
