RBI Mandates New Fraud Detection System for Banks

  • On June 30, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) instructed all banks—including NBFCs and UPI platforms—to adopt the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) developed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
  • The FRI system identifies fraud-prone mobile numbers by analyzing data from sources like NCRP, Chakshu, and banking reports.

SBI Adds $44 Billion to Global Economy
