7th Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG 2025) held 4–15 May 2025 across 5 Bihar cities + New Delhi. Medal tally: Maharashtra #1 (158: 58G+47S+53B); Haryana #2 (117); Rajasthan #3 (60). Organised by MYAS + SAI. New additions: Sepak takraw (competitive) + E-sports (demonstration). Khelo India Programme launched: 14 October 2017.

Bhargavastra — indigenous counter-drone system by SDAL (SIIL subsidiary, Nagpur); tested at Seaward Firing Range, Gopalpur, Odisha. Detects small drones at 2.5 km; radar range 6–10 km. Two-layer defence: (1) unguided micro-rockets (lethal radius 20m, drone swarms) + (2) guided micro-missiles (precision). Deployable above 5,000m altitude. Equipped with EO/IR sensors + C4I command centre.

India-EU TTC — ₹391 Crore for Marine Plastic Litter & Waste-to-Green Hydrogen
India-EU TTC (Trade and Technology Council) launched two R&D initiatives (15 May 2025) — total ₹391 crore (41 mn euro) via Horizon Europe + GoI: (i) Marine Plastic Litter (MPL): EU €12 mn + India ₹90 cr (MoES). (ii) Waste-to-Green Hydrogen (W2GH): EU €10 mn + India ₹90 cr (MNRE). TTC established 2022 (Modi + von der Leyen); officially launched February 2023.

DST’s CCU Testbeds — India’s First Carbon Capture Cluster; Pilot at Ballabgarh
DST launched India’s first cluster of 5 CCU (Carbon Capture & Utilisation) testbeds for the cement industry (PPP model) across Haryana, UP, Maharashtra, AP, and Goa. Ethanol Blending — E20 Achieved; New Target E30 by 2030; 5.2 MT FCI Rice
India achieved E20 (20% ethanol blending) ahead of its 2025 target. New goal: E30 (30% blending) by 2030. FCI rice allocation for EBP Programme: raised from 2.4 MT → 5.2 MT (ESY 2024-25). Reserve price cut ₹2,800 → ₹2,250/quintal. Potential yield: ~2.45 billion litres at 470 L/tonne. EBP Programme launched 2003.

DFCCIL — India’s Longest Rail Flyover Girder (110.5 m) at WDFC JNPT-Nilje
DFCCIL (PSU, Ministry of Railways; est. 2006) launched India’s longest Rail Flyover (RFO) girder — 110.5 m, ~1,500 tonnes — at Kalamboli, Maharashtra on the WDFC JNPT–Nilje section. Open web steel girder; launched with 34-metre radial shift over live IR tracks without disruption — showcasing advanced railway engineering under the DFC project.

LUPIN — GMV Spain’s GPS-Like Lunar Navigation System Under ESA
GMV (Grupo Mecanica del Vuelo), Spain developed LUPIN (Enabling High Performance PNT in the Lunar Environment) under an ESA programme — GPS-like navigation for the Moon using PNT (Positioning, Navigation, Timing) via lunar-orbiting satellites. Field-tested 27 Apr – 8 May 2025 at La Oliva, Fuerteventura (moon-like terrain). Supports astronauts + rovers; precursor to Mars exploration missions.
