Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the updated ‘Nijut Moina 2.0’ scheme.
The initiative aims to encourage more girls to pursue higher education by providing monthly financial assistance to eligible girl students.
The official launch took place at the Birinchi Kumar Barua Auditorium, Gauhati University, with symbolic distribution of application forms occurring across Assam simultaneously.
Punjab will become the first state in India to officially empanel:
- Sign language interpreters
- Translators
- Special educators
The empanelment will be under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. These professionals will assist in cases under the POCSO Act, 2012, in addition to juvenile justice matters.
A major mineral discovery has been made in the Bhalukona–Jamanidih block, Mahasamund district, Chhattisgarh.
The find involves sulphide mineralization containing:
- Nickel (Ni)
- Copper (Cu)
- Platinum group elements (PGE)
This is considered a significant step in securing critical minerals vital for industrial development and clean energy initiatives.

Goldman Sachs revised growth forecasts for India for 2025 and 2026.
The cut is attributed to growing trade tensions with the US following President Donald Trump’s imposition of a 25% tariff on Indian goods.
Goldman Sachs noted that policy uncertainty could harm growth prospects more than the tariffs themselves.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to keep the repo rate at 5.50%.

A high-level Philippine delegation has agreed to boost imports of key Indian agricultural and processed food products.
Products to be imported:
- Rice
- Buffalo meat
- Vegetables
- Fruits
- Peanuts
The decision was finalized after discussions with APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) and IREF (Indian Rice Exporters Federation).
This move aims to deepen bilateral trade ties between the two nations.
Moldova has officially become the 107th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that the instrument of ratification was handed over in New Delhi.
The handover took place during a meeting between Moldova’s Ambassador to India, Ana Taban, and Indian officials.

The system operates under the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. It provides unified inundation forecasting capabilities for flood management.
